"Watermarks" is a short film created to provide voice for coastal residents dealing with the effects of severe weather brought about through climate change. The film is designed to be played in an endless loop, signifying the endless cycle of storms we experience along the coastlines. All words were collected in real time from social media posts during hurricanes Florence and Maria and woven together to create a single narrative from many voices. Images and sound were recorded during and immediately after hurricane Maria. All media was recorded using an iPhone 6 and edited with Final Cut Pro, with the guidance of Douglas Kenyon of Kenyon Productions. "Watermarks" originally premiered in 2019 as part of the installation "Blue Tarp Nation" at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Portland, Maine.
